Monica: Why is there never a bus when you want one?
Thomas: Good question! I think it’s because it’s rush hour and a rainy day.
Monica: Maybe. But it isn’t happening only today. Actually, it happens every day.
Thomas: You’re right.
Monica: In my opinion, the reason is that there are not enough buses on this route.
Thomas: Mm…I think that the government should build a subway line around here.
Monica: Good idea! I am really sick and tired of waiting for and standing on crowded buses every day.
Thomas: So am I. A subway line would be more convenient and comfortable, I think.
Monica: See the traffic light over there? It has been broken for a week, and I haven’t seen anyone coming over to fix it.
Thomas: Not only that. There are too many cars and scooters parked along the road.
Monica: Ugh! The air is so terrible that I have to wear a mask while waiting for the bus here every day.
Thomas: The air pollution is really bad for us. Our government really ought to do something to solve all of these transportationproblems.
Monica: Exactly. There should be more trees planted along the road…
Thomas: And the government should enhance the public transportation infrastructure to help us get around the city more easily.
