Hi everyone! My name is Harley.
I'm from Auckland, New Zealand. My major in university was Chinese which led me to Taiwan in 2008 for practice. While I was here I discovered a passion for teaching that prompted me to return home and study teaching formally. Since then I have taught all levels of English to adults and teenagers from all over the world. I have found that the most effective learning strategies all depend on being immersed in a relaxed environment in which you can be yourself. I work hard to find topics and materials that resonate with my students and generate a real desire to communicate. I believe that everyone has something to teach me, and I enjoy learning from my students as they hone their English skills. I enjoy teaching at David's as they give me the freedom to tailor lessons to my students needs. Come along, tell us your goals, and let's get started.
Hi, I come from Perth, Western Australia. At university I majored in English and Philosophy because I love to read, write and question ideas about the world. I’m always keeping up-to-date with what’s happening globally through Twitter and in my free time I like to write funny or thought-provoking short stories. Learning English is a great way to connect with people from all over the world. My own experiences travelling have shown me the power that English has. I’ve seen Japanese people speaking to Germans in English, Russians speaking to French people in English, Brazilians speaking to Iranians in English, and the list goes on. The fact that English connects such a wide variety of people together is the main reason I’m excited to be an English teacher……and the lessons can be really fun too. So, hopefully I’ll see you walking my classroom soon!
